I had 4 footstraps of a particular brand give up on me in one season... mainly adjustability issues, but I also had some comfort problems with them.
I wonder what are your experiences. What brands are the best.
I jybe a lot, so getting in and out of them easily is important. I also jump a lot, so I need some good support. And, of course, I like them soft and comfy...
Cheers
I've had the same pair of DaKine straps for about 7 years now, they've been on about 5 boards and still going strong!
Ive just replaced my old and uncomfortable straps with a coulpe of NSI Proton Surf Straps from WestOzkitesurfing and so far couldnt be happier.
They seem to hold their shape so makes jambing ur feet in afetr a jibe easy and are very comfortable - I tend to ride with them quite loose so I can twist my feet but they also keep me locked in when jumping.
+1 for the NSI Proton Surf Straps, they are non adjustable no Velcro etc and super comfortable. I have tried many straps.
But if your concerned about what other people think of you, you need to ride without straps, and unhooked, also without fins and without a harness, don't wear board shorts over your wetsuit, and don't wear a wetsuit or board shorts.
Try these

Cabrinha surf straps are soft and flexible. No adjustment though. Once you have selected your size screw them down.
could use windsurfing straps, most are comfy straight out of the box, cheaper too, not as wide either
OK, Mark, I will give them another go... but jumping a kite surfboard and jumping a windsurfer is very different...
Have you tried a wide strap on your windsurfer?... I would...
I have Cabrinha straps on a ~3year old Cab s-quad surf board. They are uncomfortable, grabby and floppy (when tromped on). Do not recommend them (the new ones are hopefully a lot better)
