I had a sun spot cut out near my eye a couple of years ago so I'm pretty careful about sun protection; sunglasses
and plenty of sunscreen lotion. Problem is after 30 minutes in the water a residue from the sunscreen forms over the inside of the sunglasses making it hard to see through to the point that I have to take them off.
I've tried different types of sunscreens and applying it an hour before hitting the water but even though the results are better for some brands the end outcome is still the same.
Has anyone tried "Cat Crap" (goggle anti-fog) for this problem or do you know of any other fixes?

Windreams I always wash my sunglasses in hair shapoo. A couple of drops of both side of lenses, gently rub in and then rinse under warm water. Works wonders.
Karma got me good about 2 weeks ago when I dropped my RayBan sunnies into the drink. ![]()

They were attached to a floatable green neck-strap. If anyone has found them, please let me know. $$$
Do you clean the excess out of your eyebrows? That's where most of the muck comes from that goes on the lenses.
If you're serious about sun protection you need to wear a bucket hat so you get full coverage. Then you just need sunscreen on the lower half of your face.
Cleaning the lenses well with warm water and detergent gets most of the filth off and the cleaner they are the less likely they are to fog. When they do fog just dunking your face in the water clears them.
Stuff like RainX helps, but it's not a permanent cure for keeping lenses clear.

Cheers Delta, I was more looking for a remedy to stop the reside forming on the glasses so I can get a few hours of kiting in before I have to take them off.

Lofty if I see them floating around down here I’ll give you a yell but are you sure they were RayBans? I thought you would be too tight for that brand
.

Gorgo, yep I'll take the "excess off the eyebrows" tip on board.
I have just purchased a surfing hat so next season it will be given a trial.
It's been a while since I’ve cleaned them as I have given up using sunglasses because I only get 30 minutes kiting in before I can't see through them but yep I clean them with detergent and warm water so I start each session with a clean pair.
Thanks for the RainX tip. I’ve got some in the cupboard so I'll try it next time I go kiting and post the results on here.
The 50SPF they sell here is a kind of milk, that doesn't seem to leave oily residue like the creams sold overseas. Bloody good stuff, it is.
