Trying to get a bit more tricky with the strapless SB- finding my current board a bit heavy and hard to get a grab on it without dropping it. Any recommendations?
I'm 70kg, currently riding a 5'10" underground pohutu (quad). Mainly in scarbs beachie mush but would like it to hold in decent swell.
Unless the wind is light, a current year standard kite surfboard like yours should be fine if you punt into the wind. Unless your board is an older, heavier model.
Sometimes a lighter board is not helpful. They are more prone to blowing away with the wind during a big punt. Unless of course the wind is light, then lighter board is better.
Maybe pick up an old surfboard and see how you find the difference in weight.
Try smaller board ,from 5'5 to 5'8" i use 5'5" in mush and up to double over head and weight of boards 2klg to 2.9klg (my weight 76klg 5'10 height)

Thanks mate, it is a few years old and has a fair bit of weight behind it. I can get a fair bit of height out of it but would like to move to getting some grabs and backrolls. I find the wide rail and the weight is making it hard. I've taken my MR surfboard out and that was a bit too bouncy (but it is 6'3) so guess I'm trying to find the middle ground.

What you using? A custom? I'm wondering whether something in a fat fish works, is that the kind of thing you have?
**** Salt why did you have to post that video... now I'm going to have to go buy one as well, don't think my credit card can take much more ![]()

2klg brd is custom and 2.9 klg brd production both epoxy smookboards.com.au. With your weight the Mulcoy brd would be great but be careful Friends have loved these boards but have broken them in half or deck ends up like a moon crater As Bene313 try cheap surf boards and experiment before outlaying lot of money
