great kite skills, the rest looks like he should be on a wake skate to me personally! (except those bigger front rolls, they were sick - but still prefer them actually hit off a wave and land in the flats ala alldredge)

anyone got the slayer for demo in WA, or has ridden it out in surf?

Nice to see a diamond nose that isn't a copy of a Vanguard.

Shredding and all that, but someone needs to show him how to glue a deck pad on.

Its a great advert for the board - or him - or both.

Being a judge isn't something that I think would make me any better than anyone else, anyone could be a judge (bad or good) if they wanted to be. I'm not actually judging or working for the PKRA anymore anyway, as I don't agree with their ethics.

Riding un-hooked whether on a skate, twin-tip or surfboard is always the pinnacle of progression.

Unless you were trying to throw down handle passes i see no point riding unhooked, it seems like your trying to copy skateboarding or something.

I think he would have made a remarkable Irish dancer, unreal feet twiddling skills. I've always wondered what to do on my surfboard when there's no waves, now I know!

Well Dave put your snorkel and fins on....you gonna spend more time in than on the water...lol...based on my experience anyway..

theres a a time and place for unhooking no doubt, but I'm not sure if being unhooked would serve any purpose in a lot of those tricks, some but not all. Unhooking is not the be all and end all. It's just unhooking.

needless to say I spent a lot of time in the water today... Man I suck.

I'm sure I will Eppo! Wind has gone to crap up here easterly for days, so I think time to catch a fish and surf a wave.
I don't really understand sir rowdy about unhooking being a pinnacle of progression. I'm not very good and it doesnt seem that hard.

What were you trying to learn Eppo?

Yeah because I see skateboarders riding un-hooked all the time... .

I'm not saying that nothing hooked-in is fun or challenging to do, I'm just saying it's not the top of the list for stuff you can do. Un-hooking is just the next level to push yourself with, once you can do it hooked-in learn it properly un-hooked. It's the evolution of the sport and your abilities it's another element you have to master.
I don't think anyone on here can honestly tell me that doing anything properly un-hooked is easier than hooked...

p.s.
I find it quite humorous how almost everyone on here used to give me grief when I told people un-strapped was the future... now most those same people are in-line with me on that issue but they can't work out why you would want to unhook... hahaha. Why ride without straps???

Nah Dave just the basics, just the basics and I still sucked. That's why I'm so impresSed with the above.

You can't deny unhooking requires another level of application Folks.

But i personally fail to see how unhooking is suitable for most of what Is shown above. Some of it, but most would require unhooking for little value.

So within the context of the footage above, which has given myself a great enjoyment I feel the comment "unhook" is a less than useful contribution.

Maybe be a friendly suggestion maybe but that is not how it comes across.

Peronally ive unhooked a fair bit, just don't enjoy the feel. But I'm stoked for those that do In all styles.

Just do what feels right and don't let any bastard tell you otherwise.

People said the same thing about un-hooking for freestyle kiteboarding in the beginning... or even against riding a surfboard un-strapped . It's all an evolution.

You're right though, you should do want you want! Just because I have an opinion on the subject doesn't mean you or anyone else has to do what I say...

There's that 'evolution' word again.

Lou wainmen would be laughing in his jocks reading this...

Evolution is not linear, it streams out from all directions and from time to time double backs on itself for a peak...
