My mate in Perth recently had his 2014 12m Airush Lithium kite stolen from his car. If anyone sees an advert by someone who obviously is not a kiter trying to sell this type of kite, send me a message, that would be appreciated. Cheers

I have heard rumours that cash converters and others happily accept stolen goods and then "stock rotate" after storing it all in a warehouse for a decent period to let the dust settle.

For example all of the Perth stock might go to Sydney and vice versa.

The stock would be very unlikely to go in via a shopfront, rather it would be stolen by a druggie and then sold to the bikies who would meet the "black market buyer" at some discreet warehousing facility. This step would only be done by a very small "circle of trust"

Apparently if you know enough really bad people it's quite easy to get your gear back. I don't know any if these pricks (and don't want to) so my gear that got stolen is most likely long gone.

When the cops do really good busts they often find an "alladins cave" full of all sorts of stolen goods.

Kites have serial numbers sewn into them most thieves wouldn't know that they exist. So next time you get your kites out take a picture of the labels.that said these can be removed so I also have a very small star (smiley face, swirl, penis) drawn with a sharpie on my kite as an identifying mark.

Years ago, maybe, but not any more. Most shops have pretty strict rules and ID checks in place for when stolen gear comes through. My brother works in this industry and he's had to go to court and deal with the police many times over the years regarding stolen gear.

They make their money off the loans.

Sucks about the thieving ****s but keep an eye out on the police auctions i guess.

I'm with Wishy on this one . I wonder how many kiters have sold their unwanted gear to a crime conversion store ? Snap survey , anyone ? Yet , I know guys who have scored the absolute bargain board of a lifetime through one of these stores for waaaaay less than anyone with the brains to have earned the money to buy it legitimately , would part with it for. Bastards. Flyingcab what's happening in your action packed profile pic. Im not a photographer myself but it seems the shot is cropped abit much to see anything other than your physique and those speedos. Are you sponsored by speedos and get kickbacks for closeups? Im not having a dig at you but it looks like snap from a dating site.
