After watching this video which aired tonight on the news, we noticed a 12m Kite which was stolen from a friend of mine a few months ago in Perth. Like many he had his car broken into and some equipment stolen.

The full list of items in this auction is here: auctions.com.au/auctions/2017/09/02/wa-police-forfeited-and-unclaimed-property-auction.html

As far as I can see it's the only kite there, but there are also surfboards and windsurfing equipment.

Probably best to check these auctions regularly if you've recently got some stuff stolen.

All these go on sale tomorrow, hopefully we have enough time to claim the kite back before this.

There is is a lot of kite stuff on there. Stacks of surfboards. I like the boat and the jet powered surfboard. Probably get yourself a bargain if you were chasing something.

This is why it pays to have your kite serial numbers written down somewhere. If you ever have them stolen and the cops end up with them they'll come back to you. Maybe.

Even better is to have your email on your gear, no matter where you travel in oz or os an email is the best id and contact

Good advice Phoney and Surfer62

We were able to retrieve the kite yesterday from the police station only because my friend had a police report from when it got stolen

A timely Question: how do you guys mark your kites with serials or with your license no? I've tried the black texta but it does wear off quickly and smudges. Any other tips please?

I normally write a big 13 on my smaller kites, so I can rip off wallies when I sell them.

Why not use sail tape, 0411 call Lofty.
