Just got back in from an epic sesh at the next bay around from mine. Have lived out here for nearly 2 years and never kited it (needs a bit of a less common wind direction than usual). Checked it today and had the best kite in bloody ages, great conditions..... re-stoked on the awesome area I live.

Yay yerrrrrrrr!!!!!

Makes up for the yacht race this morning anyways!

Yep it was Manly, sick times today. Always kind of wrote the spot off as being too gusty etc..... but what a nice surprise today! Were you out Plummet?

Yeah but I timed it wrong. ended up with sub 15 knot session making my kite wet and covered in sand!!!... a bit gay to be told.

I had an epic session at manly beach earlier this year. 30-35 knots cranken wind. It was sweeeeeeeet. It works in a northerly

Ahhh, I used to kite Manly occasionally. As soon as it goes too north for Orewa I'd get around there. God I miss that neck of the woods. I used to work at North Shore airfield flying and instructing helicopters. I'd fly over those spots, check them out then head out after work or when it was too windy to fly. Auckland is such a great spot for kiting. Never too long between blows, always a spot for any wind direction, surf on two coasts 45 mins apart, acres of flat water and speed spots in awesome lagoons all within an hour and a half of the city. Damn I wish I was still there. I hope you guys thank your lucky stars 7 days a week.

You're right Ed - I do wake up nearly every day and think how lucky I am to live in such an awesome kite spot.

The SUPing can also get bloody good. Never thought I'd say it haha!

Its like a permanent holiday...... well Im pretty much on permanent holiday...... bring on summer!!!!!

PS hope you get a chance to get back over here sometime!

Nice - I was wondering if there was a spot for those rare northerly days. I'll check out Manly next time

Having said that, tomorrow and Wed are looking mental... Thursday might be a good 20-30 knot day.
