Hi folks wanting to get away and camp near to kiting spots over the season.

Looking around Augusta and as far as Denmark/Albany. Camping ground rather than bushing it would be the go. Maybe an onsite van too..

Have never really kited much beyond Perth metro for 6 yrs now but time to branch out a bit.

I love downwinders but would be chuffed to get amongst anything with some waves (preferably less treacherous style not like Margs). Have only really tried Yallingup down south a few times (tricky spot).

I'd really appreciate any advice and if you want to keep your fav spot secret squirrels please PM me and I'll keep it under my hat.

Cheers,

Travelin Funky.

Augusta has a campsite right across the road from the spot where everyone pumps up and packs down. Glass on the river, waves on the outside. One of my favourite travelling spots. And when conditions are friendlier, you could get amongst it up at Main break at Margs. Plus if the wind doesn't come in, you can always go up and do some wineries and good food!

I think you're are forgetting Funky that your family is going with you.

If you are lucky Mrs Funky will let you pick one from "Surfin in the morning, kiting in the arvo, a beer or a small campfire.

Also it will be unlikely that she will be that generous every day and from experience as the camping trip progresses the less generous they become.

Hey I'm not THAT stoopid (usually)

Am planning seperate trips with and without fam.

Ha ha - even without fam I'd be lucky to get my chicken wings rolling over for a surf and a kite in the same day. Bout as likely as Christina Hendriks ringing me up for a booty call!

BTW - it is Ms Funky to you Slacko.
She is very picky about her independance (and mine!)

Spot on about the Forester. Surprisingly capable.

I'm not a bush bashin kind of guy (unless Christine does call!) and the toy AWD is wifey's. Took it up the Pemberton dunes recently and was really surprised.
Only needed a snatch/tow at the very last bit coz my bro in law decided to park his Prado right in front as i was charging up with pistons screaming and denting the bonnet from the inside.

Have shovel - will try.
