As im new to the southern hemisphere i?m interested in where people go for a kite holiday with guaranteed wind?
If you were going to Europe then there is only really 1 place that will near 100% guarantee you wind?.Tarifa (southern most tip of Spain) ..otherwise Fuerteventura can be good.

What time of year? In the southern hemisphere or Australia, or nearby?
I was looking at options around south america at this time of year, and parts of the Caribbean are good, specifically above/the top of venezuela. I am not sure where else is a certain option, as now seems to be the point between seasons.
If you were looking at kiting around December/January, WA would have to be your best bet of anywhere.
cheers bud
anytime really...just trying to find out where it howls ! as to where...in Aus or Pacific region.
It seems this Kitesurfari up in the far north QLD is good in the winter time.
Do you know where the good WA spots are?
i dont think its right that we go to asia all the time for our wind.
theres gotto be consistant wind on some of these pacific islands. i would love to know how to get some more data on all of them. and there yearly statistics. preferably not the resort islands to.
Best place with consistent wind this time of the year is Mauritius!
Great place for flat water & waves!!
In Western Australia I'd say Augusta, Margret River, Woody's Point & Gero or Lancelin! In Summer

Good WA spots are fairly concentrated between Broome and Esperance. Stick to this stretch and you cant go wrong. Theres a sick kitable right hander directly between these two as the crow flies. get directions to Hyden.

Hey Kossie, check out skatepark or lagoon on windguru,I know its in Asia but I think you would luv it there, wont be much happening there over the next 6-8 weeks but come late October early November til April and then June- August ,can not go wrong as far as wind goes and its cheap as chips
and comfortable, food is not the best but its OK
Aitutaki in the Cook Islands has had a great season from late June to mid August. Depends on the strength of the trades. (The wind is backing off a bit now.) Jervis Bay in NSW during the Australian summer months is one of the few places in NSW that you can almost guarantee a daily NE from mid - late December through the end of February.
Im hanging to get away last week sept or first week oct, any idea of where there might be wortha look?
Just returned from Cocos/Keeling Islands off WA north coast. Was there for 10 days and the wind never dropped below 15 (though I was usually always overpowered on my 12m). Most of the time it was 20-22 knots. Awesome flat water and totally uncrowded. First kiting holiday and I can't wait to go again!
sri lanka has good wind till sept/october.

We're doing our second season on joining Airborne already, had a few windless days but in general the wind is pretty consistent. With nice warm water. :)

mate septembers to late in my books. i kited in sri lanka for 4 months by september the lagoons start shrinking a bit. whoever sugested october is right off there rocker.
you wanna get there start season bit more water in the lagoons litle less stagnantie etc ..... can allways go big lagoon but even they shrink a little which brings out there shells etc plus its way gusty.
if i ever returned to sri lanka for another season i would **** kalpitiya and kappaladi off all together and go to mannar. much much better up there no stupid ****ing kite schools.
honestly tomme theres better places with cleaner wind. shes too southerly which is as sideshore as shell get so makes it a little gusty and the consistant clouds create some intresting windshear and odd thermals.
so anyone know any cheap hidden gems in the pacific islands? if you refer me to a kite school ill slap you :)
im after conditions not establishments.

As for booking trips on the turn, pure genius mate, or maybe just one of those years.
Not that I could a give shag, I'm in Egypt kiting every week bro ![]()
Rock on ![]()
winds been pretty consistent for snow kiting in nz so far Im here for another 2 weeks .I will let you know how consistant it is by the end.
The altitude factor plays a big part in wind consistancy here. Its something a little different and worth considering.I have traveled here form perth wa where the wind is actually consistent in august.September and april are the only crap months for wind in wa with december ,january and febuary being epic.I would also rate august for big wave riding.winter winds can be a bit crazy.
South africa and west auz are always good for the southern hemisphere summer.
I went argentina last year and there is flat water spots on these huge lakes they have there and there is a lot of pkra events in argentina too!.
Chile looks sick I would love to check that coastline out ,but the water is a bit cold there I have heard.
