Hi all,

Am planning a kiting road trip along the South Coast of WA, starting in Margs for new years, then 12 days to get to Esperence (Cape le Grand) before heading back to Perth. Have 4WD and have hired a small caravan for accom.

Am a twin tip rider, competent in the surf but also enjoy flat water. 7,9,12,17m sizes coming with me.
Spent 2 months doing this same trip about 15 years ago as a surfer but now its all about the kiting so looking from a different perspective.

Anyone got any tips: general advice, locations, best free campsites, likely spots to meet fellow kiters, warnings, places to avoid?
I am travelling solo so any and all advice is welcome.

Would also be great to meet up with anyone else who may be travelling that area at a similar time.

Augusta is your best bet for that time of year .

you can also be lucky to get an easterly wind in the morning in dunsborough and afternoon sessions in busselton ( it gets its own local seabreeze everyday ).
As for waves just head to Prevelly you will work it out .

The further east you go, the better it gets!

That's what I am hoping Herby.
Heard good things about s couple of places east of Augusta. I don't think it all ends there.

On winds westbound, where whisky is sipped, flat waters await...
