I currently ride the pro fish and I'm looking at adding a wam to my quiver. You can get a pro model for $1000 or sls for $1450.
Is the sls actually worth the extra few hundred.
thanks in advance

I've been asking the same question, but too late for me I sold my 2020 fish and bought the SLS. I wouldn't say its worth the extra $450, but still it looks schmik. I only bought it as I love the board so much and my old one was an ex-demo.

SLS sizing also seems to be more on point too.

Cheers mate . I ended up just buying the pro model wam , I kept my fish it's an awesome board but lacks a bit of bite in head high beachies . The sls sure did look fancy though but I couldn't justify the extra coin

Nice Nathe what size did you get and what weight are you?? I was also on the fence between the 2 choices. The Pro construction is already market leading, one of the best have tried and tested. You would be happy with either.

Myself after having the SLS for a couple of weeks its super responsive (bit like a tennis racket or golf driver). Its real high performance so if your timing is out or you are out of rhythm it kicks back a bit. In that way I would say the Pro is a bit more consistent and forgiving which in chop/backwash onshore might be better at times. Especially for intermediate riders progressing. Nathe you sound like you surf etc so probs going to tear it up on either.

Yeow new toys are sik hope you are enjoying yours...let us know how you find it compared to your fish.

Yeah mate I've been surfing for a very long time and like you I'm very fussy when it comes to boards, hence a shed full of them.
I haven't had a chance to get it out yet but I'm heading down the coast Friday so will hopefully give it a good crack then. Also dropping in to see the guys at Quobba to grab a medium back fin to drop in the back of my large set.
The fish is a fun board but with fish shapes it's hard to link smooth turns together. It's so fun but when you have a random section pop up in front of you and you can quickly belt it leaving you thinking wow did I just land that, also good for airs with the extra width.
I went the 5'11 I'm 85kg plus harness etc. and I like a bit of volume in my boards anyway. Let you know what I think Friday after a session and a few beers
cheers
