Spent a few hours at the beach yesterday trying to get some footage to use twixtor with, wind was up and down but it finally kicked in and Kin pulled out a few of his skills for the lense.

Dubstep and slow mo video. Love it. Can you explain twixtor. Is it a program to slow down footage taken at a standard speed (ie not with a high speed camera)? What camera setup did you use?

Dubstep was made for slow motion and a friend bought a flash card last night for me to play in the bar here it Vietnam. As soon as I heard it I had visions of extreme kiteboarding slow mo and was on the beach filming the next day.
Twixtor is a plug in for after effects that interpolates frames that are not there. The source material needs to be shot at as high a frame rate as possible. I use a canon 550d at 59.94 fps which is then imported into AE and using twixtor you can mess around until you get the end result.

There is a little warping in this vid but it can be tidied up, just youtube twixtor and have a look at some of the great stuff people are doing with DSLR video and twixtor.

try and shoot at a faster frame rate to eliminate motion blur on each frame - ialmost always shoot 1/250 or faster when i know i am going to slow it down

give twixtor crisp edgesand frames

and warping should be minimised

Hey Reflex, I take it you are refering to shutter speed, not frame rate. Thanks for the tips, will bust the camerea out again today as the sun is shining and the wind building, might even get out there myself.

This was the first test of twixtor and must admit am very happy with the initial result.
