Have been having a little bit of a problem with my Chicken loop lately. basically the donkey dick broke off whilst out one day and I didn't notice untill I received a bit of a scare when the chicken loop sliped off.

Off I went to KP to find they don't supply the Donkey Dick as a seperate part (didn't expect them to though) so I had to get thrid party one which attaches to the spreader bar. This worked great untill it too slipped out and gave me another scare. both times this has happened I have been close to shore so no damage (only pride) ha.

Question is does anybody have any other ideas? Has anybody made their own? ect

Cheers guys.

The problem that can happen is when you land a jump (or don't land it, but hit the water) you can pull down on your bar which can unhook it if your bar is tuned for excessive depower.

If you're up to it, ride suicide.

kite will not totally depower when your chicken loop comes out and you let go. it is then easy to pull the chicken loop back toward you and hook in again.

Don't do this if you're only just learning/low intermediate though. There's a reason it's called 'suicide'.

IDS just hook it on where you normally would, safety to the metal attachment at the top of the chicken loop.

Alot of guys (even some pros) use a bit of elastic tied to the harness hook. Easy to do and works well. Basically your chicken loop wont slip off but if you want to unhook you can pretty easily.

It will take too long to explain exactly how it is done but I could add photos of one if needed

Donkey thingos always go missing when you need them.

When ever I demo a kite to someone who isnt confident holding an unhooked bar. I open up the loop and connect it directly to the harness hook. Works a charm.
