My 9m 2009 rev 2 (that I got few weeks ago) has a noticeably heavier bar pressure even on the lightest bar pressure setting, than its older and bigger sister my 13m 2008 rev. I also notice the difference in the bridal length (proportionately). The two kites look the same shape, so I assume there is no real difference in the design of the canopy.
So, I hope to get some advises or ideas how to lighten the bar pressure by changing the length of the bridal on the rev 2. I assume it might need to be longer, but truly I have no idea.
Today doesn't seem to be a windy day in WA ......may be someone wants to talk about kiteboarding on this forum...?...
...have a windy festive season.....
Although I didn't notice, it was generally said the REV 2 had more bar pressure than REV 1.
The thing to look at is the 'P' lines. the ones connecting the front pigtail to the rear pigtail via the leading edge mounted pulley. It actually shortens (by about 200mm) over time, especially if there's any binding in the pulley, & upsets the response. It also sheets the kite more as it shortens. Get a new set & compare lengths to yours.

Hi Col,
My kite is brand new (few weeks old), and it felt heavier from day one, so line stretch is out of issue....
...do you mean, that by extending the "P" line I can decrease bar pressure...?
...how would that effect the response of the kite...
Cheers
Sorry, if the kite is new there goes my theory. I wouldn't be playing around with the standard setup.
cheers Col
