Brains Trust!

Has anyone had experience in changing the ball bearings in a Slingshot Universal Swivel?

Mine have all rusted and seized up.

@99 bucks USD a pop I'd like to try and fix them on the cheap as I have a few around the place at home.

they seem to always Rust out. ive never changed a bearing but i did remove it from the bar and soaked it a kero bath. then spun it up on a drill to free up a bit of that rust. to finish i packed it with a thin grease. it will never be as good as new but will last a bit longer

Thanks Scanno. I will have to give this a try.

I see the 2017 North Bar has ceramic bearings.

Go to a skateboard shop they'll sell you one for a couple of dollars or maybe have a spare one for free then pack in grease Vaseline. has worked fine for me for a couple of years now.

How do you pull the swivel apart?

You can't!

Soak it in diesel for a few days then spray with silicon spray!

It requires regular maintenance, ie soaking n spraying.
If that doesn't fix it it needs to BE REPLACED!
