Now Slingshot are going into the foil business... Who's tried foilboarding and how popular do you think it will get?

Wouldn't be cheap from your local dealer.. Not that there are any in Brisbane that stock n sell the goods.. Although it would be awesome to try n see the products in the flesh cause ozone just aren't the same...
At $2800 USD in the US I would estimate they will be at least $3500Aud in Australia. At that price I dont think too many can afford one. Liquid Force just released the FoilFish which is $2000. Still very expensive but much closer to being affordable
We sell and stock the Slingshot products here at Kitepower QLD, though the foil will only be available on special order. Pricing will be around $3300 but speak to us about being competitive with the US pricing before just ordering overseas.
Ive got shipment coming in next week. the Foils are pre sold except one. get in quick. Giz a call if you're interested0754388118Foiling is starting to get a following here in Caloundra - few more people taking it up recently - we've had a season of loads of days of light wind and the foil is a get buzz and new challenge. lets you get out in and blast around in super light winds.
I found this on the other forum interesting......

I took my Alien Air FX out for it's virgin session yesterday afternoon, light 10 - 11knot winds, North Rebel 14, Texas City Levee.
Initial perceptions was great, though the mast is quite tall.
Unfortunately, I was bummed that the mast broke off about 30 minutes into the session!! Very strange, broke off cleanly, no exposed carbon rovings etc. The baseplate is still secured firmly to the board and it's almost like the solid mast was "glued" into the pocket of the baseplate and not really laid up / integrated solidly into the base.
Again, deep water, sand bottom, board broke free cleanly sliding downwind once I got up on plane.
I know this is probably a freak mfg issue and Slingshot / MHL will stand behind this fully, just wasn't what I was expecting 30 min into my first session on a $2799 toy!!
Been riding KFA mrk3 for about 4 months and crashing (hard) into any number of mysterious underwater objects. Last time I was sure it snapped off (not even a scratch). Love this thing!
