Part 2:
Well that thread is about 7 years old now. Has much changed between these two awesome kites? Which one do you prefer? Which one is the better for boosting, and quick throws, loops and transitions? I am not interested in waves, just a good wind-range kite, with the speed and power of a C kite. Freestyle. Cheers

Fuel is certainly not a 'good wind range' kite.
The four strings just attach on the corners, so your angle of attack change is about as limited as you can get.

C-kites in general are crappy when they're underpowered, but just awesome when you get them fully lit.

Hmm I disagree with the wind-range situation. I have a SSFuel 11m and I am able to mow the lawn with it in hmm about 11-13knots. But yeah 18+ knots and they excel dramatically! Love the Fuels.

Are you sure you've got the sizes right this time? LOL... yeah still fuming over that so called 13m Fuel you sold me. That was an 11m. Had it confirmed by a SS rep!
But no problems. I needed a smaller kite anyway. It flies well and I am very happy with it.
See... even Sibbo would be proud of me.

Yet on a flysurfer sonic, or a big ozone edge, you would be jumping decently in 13 knots, and still able to hold it in 25knots.
Hence the comment on the small wind range of the fuel.

I find it very hard to believe you can hold ground on an 11m fuel in 11knots, unless you're in butter flat water with the tide going the right way. (which are rare conditions for most people)

Really? I recall it was a kite and bar for around $50.

I guess my error is compensated by the fact you basically got it for free.

I prefer FUELS.
Haters always going to hate someone ripping on a different kite to what they can handle! And being such a finely tuned piece of technology, they don't need to dramatically change them each year.
They're a load a pop/ ride fast tool that's suited if that's the job you like..
Beats mowing and doing swingy under kite thingys.

Yes really. It was more like $150. And you owe me a bar and lines. I didn't get that in the parcel.

Got your popcorn ready Adam?

Lofty,

Go onto my user profile and you can see the kite you purchased.

My advert on Seabreeze clearly states the following:

Jul 2016Kitesurfing - Kites 2007 Slingshot Fuel - 13 metre$80

Not $150 as you state.

Sounds dodgy from that deal!

Any way you got a good kite cheap.. Those 2006-7 FUELS are still awesome! Love my 15 n 17! Launch weapons#flyhighindasky...
