Did a downwinder today ,then kited up a popular rivermouth and landed my kite on a grassy picnic area, 
20 seconds later the police paddy wagon came driving along in the park,sirens and lights flashing, 
They stopped and ran to the waters edge yelling at 2 guys smimming in the river to get out,
People ran to to concrete veiwing area looking over the river,
Lifeguard was cruising up and down the river on a jet ski,
Was a scene straight out of Jaws, 
There was a Shark !!
Anyway I caught the bus back to where I started my down winder,
Talked to my lifeguard mate who heard to whole story over the surf rescue radio,
Turns out some guy spotted the shark from the road bridge 2 km upstream 
For every shark you see, there are 50 you dont see 
I was there at Maroochyore River mouth but not for long,
Was on the 9m green and orange Best TS 
fantastic day kiting 
Im a Melbourne boy but was up at Noosa for the weekend. sunday morning walked down the the beach to be met with a full on Jaws moment. there was not a single person was in the water but hundreds and hundreds of people were on the waters edge Looking in. It was crazy. There were a couple of surf life boats and jet skies cutting up and down the beach. Worst thing about it was I lugged three kites, two boards and all the other kiting equipment I might have needed and there was no wind.....come on QLD!

This is is the second time in my life I've seen this happen and they are both with in a year. The other was at Lorne in Melbourne but that was a big great white as I recall.

If I did a downwinder in a NEer and ended up in Noosa rivermouth I would have to start at Teewah or Double Island Point 
Plan on doing it one day soon 
Good chance of seeing some wildlife in the water then
