This is heartbreaking news - Interesting that a large shark was spotted at Woodmans point just this last week. Take care out there.

Article below:

N air and sea search has been launched off Port Kennedy in Western Australia after reports this morning that a snorkeler had been taken by a shark.
Witnesses who saw the the man in trouble off Port Kennedy beach at Rockingham, 30km south of Perth, believe he was attacked.

Police spokesman Mark Valentine said witnesses had reported seeing "something pretty violent" happening in the water and that there was blood in the water.

"Something very traumatic has happened there and we are treating it as a probable shark attack," Mr Valentine said.

"There was lots of talk among witnesses at the incident location about seeing fins in the water but we can't yet say whether there was definitely a shark out there."

It is understood that a father and son were swimming when the incident happened. The son swam safely to shore to raise the alarm but his father is still missing.

A rescue helicopter, police and Fremantle Sea Rescue boats were searching the ocean as family members of the man, who is believed to be from the Port Kennedy area, huddled on the beach for comfort.

Just got back from having a look. There are three helicopters, police, surf rescue, boats, quad bikes, clubbies .. they're putting in a heap of effort to find something.

I forgot got camera & phone, but there are camera crews from every channel so there will definitely be something on the telly tonight.
