Hey Guys just thought I would let the regular kiters to Woodies know that I saw a 3 meter GW Shark cruise with fins out of the water Later this afternoon about 5 meters from me. I did inform all down there of the rather scary fish swimming around.
Becareful dudes.
No need mate I know what I saw. Seen plenty of sharks and dolphins in my 35 years surfing and kitesurfing. Definitely a good size shark.
Oh please I've been swimming for 2 weeks and kiting for like three. I know my stuff and Noah's only eat the slow ones and only swim at beach 3 fool!
Has anyone thought about the benefits?
Abes, maybe if we post daily 'shark sighted at woodies' posts on seabreeze, all of the kooks and euros will RUN THE **** AWAY
Abesy I think I would want to know if a shark was hanging around. And as a fact there has been sighting reported to fisheries on a number of occasions in the past week of a 3m GW hanging around the groin. So moron you keep swimming and your attitude might well be worth looking at, TOOL
There's always been sharks at woodies.
I've seen more sharks there than anywhere.
The old ammo jetty used to be a dump for offal from the old slaughter houses. Dead animal guts straight into the water off the end of the jetty.
Also lots of lovely seals living on the islands just out from Woodies.
If people knew how close sharks were to them when in the ocean - especially at Woodies no-one would bother.http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/news/8695864/angler-warns-of-sharks-near-shore/

Jeez you blokes, what's with all the name calling?
Bit stressed at work or lost your sense of humour?
Last time I checked, kitesurfing was for fun & these forums are to help each other.
Go easy... ![]()
Haha i love it how Abel & myself were blatantly just taking the piss and this is now a 'your a tool' discussion
High five guys, nice transitioning there ![]()
Kiting at woodies really stunts my progression, really don't fancy dragging around for my board there.
50m , that's just about when you cant get enough grip on the bottom with your feet to get back if you can't relaunch for whatever reason and kites pulling you in water, Only 5km downwind then to land maybe.
Hugh Edwards, the Perth author of the book Shark, was surprised by the concentration of bronze whalers near Woodman Point.
"They've been involved in quite a few fatalities over the years," Edwards said.
"The person might die because an artery has been severed but the shark doesn't eat the person." ![]()
