Is anyone secretly excited about the new lei chronic from fly surfer. Might be my old foil days creeping in but I must say this kite seems to have most innovation I've seen in a long time. Then again does it work, has the sake of being different over ridden the need for simplicity of design and flying characteristics.
Thing is which retailer will actually bring one in?
I wouldnt mind a demo of one, but I wouldn't buy one until after a year or two of it being on the market. Perhaps V2 or V3.
Big fan of flysurfer, enjoyed their foils when i kite buggied. Wouldn't take too many good reviews for me to go out on a limb and try one.

Ummm eppo, it's not such a secret now!!!
Just watched the promo vid for it and yea got to agree it has many many new interesting innovations ,would love to give it a fly,if everything checks out the way it's supposed to we will probably see a big move in the industry over the next couple of years.

Yeh yeh, true I'm not especially subtle am I!
But I know from experience they do make a great product albeit not suited to water in my humble opinion. To efficient a wing.
So I can't see why the lei is any different. Still just wondering if the use of trailing edge bridals and three quarter struts using battens to create a greater tuning range actually provides the first true all round kite, or is the gimmick factor higher than the performance produced.
And yes second or third gen for sure.
What I want to hear is reviews from well known lei flyers who have bagged foils for years...like pump me up on kiteforum. No point is listening to the already foil flysurfer riders, there opinion will mean diddly squat to me.
Lets wait and see...

im probably one of those biased kiters -(before ozone I used to be flysurfer all the way still have a Psycho 4 in the bag and despite my c4's and edge's it's a foil heavy quiver)
disclaimer out of the way the infinity bar II is awesome true to the hype its the answer to never having to spin the bar again
the rest of the hype about the "rear mini bridle adaptive airfoil" is old hat for flysurfer they have been using that tech in their foils for years now so im expecting greatness !
all their flagship foils all have it and its amazing
That coupled with some of the most rigorous R&D in the kiting world and some of the best after sales customer service i've ever recieved flysurfer might just be raising the bar in LEI development
I can't wait to have a go on one - it's the most excited i've been about a new kite in years
I would say this kite will have been rigorously tested and refined prior to hitting the market just like the first generation Peter Lynn LEI kites
Both arnt the sort of company to come into an already saturated kite market with a substandard product.
Although air junkie I think you've got the wrong idea on the bar it unspins the centre lines only, if you loop the kite you will still have to spin the bar to uncross the lines.

In the "features" tab check out the short video and the "self launch" feature, a sand bag anchor to the LE with a pin release as the kite launches, interesting self launch idea but must be limited to lower wind range ?

Yeh good points air junkie. From my time on the fly surfers there is no compromise in quality and indeed r and D. Excited slightly.
KSS are (officially) Flysurfer agents - just havent been stocking cos no demand.

fair point you are correct about spinning the bar, I've used this system for about 5 years on a modified infinity 1.0 bar setup (same same as a 2.0 just less hard wearing)
The thought of spinning the bar to uncross the outside lines just didn't cross my mind as i like most people do it at the tail end of a trick without really thinking about it
also as a result of using this bar setup, with a pump of the bar after each trick to uncross the lines i found that the wear from abrasion on the inside lines is more than halved !

Lots & lots actually - just trying to stay one step ahead by picking up the crumbs ignored by others.
But it does seem that most of what Eppo likes is also what KSS has liked. 
Pretty stoked with our slowly expanding range atm actually - Ocean Rodeo in particular. Hugely under-rated kites (& boards) in Oz - IMHO.
Wasnt about to say anything just yet - but as you have asked - we will have demos of the 8M & 10M Cronix in by the end of the month. Im excited.

I only have ex factory Europe prices in Euros atm. Should have more info on the Oz price sometime next week.
Extrapolating a few different figures from a few different sources suggests they will come in somewhere relative to current LEI's but YEP I'm also bracing for them to be up there as well.Time will tell???? Let you know asap.
Let us know when they arrive. Hey junkie maybe you and I could demo them together to swap notes? I have a feeling it would need to be an all day affair with all the tuning options.
And yeh you gotta uncross the outside lines man! Now that would be something if it did those as well. Lol!! Yeh I always liked that pump to uncross the centre lines, but heck those foils just didn't work for me hey even after I was one of the few still on them! For real light wind they are good but heck I was on the 19m edge in Bali, that with a sector is unstoppable!
I would be very keen for a demo as well, I will catch up on Thursday, trailing edge bridal will this help with lift when tensioned?
