Didn't think you could really have a 'secret spot' in the kiting community. Big colourful sails in the sky is kinda a dead give away.

No. Heaps more accessable than Barrow.
Here is a shot with a little bit more of the BIG picture

See how this spot will work from various wind directions with beaches to launch from on both sides of the rigs groyne. (Yes it is a rig) And yes it was wiped out by that big fly swatter.

First guess would be 'foolishly' woodies from many years ago but i am probably wrong.

Who woulda thought, one of the best kiting locations in the world was man made back in the 1960's and by the navy (fishermans groyne) and an oil company (Wapet, northern groyne)
Amazing how much the place changed after the groynes were built, if yuo go into the scrub near the large pipie thing at the bay 1 carpark you can plainly see the spot where the two groynes started, rock walls and all.
Hooray for Wapet.
