Anyone know if there is a Seabreeze.com.au equivalent for South Africa??

I am going to Cape Town in July and would like to chat to other Kitesurfers from Cape Town about the weather around that time.

Cheers.

Oh Ja,

The weathers like Perth around that time, freaking freezing.

I hope you own a thick steamer but I don't think there is much wind around that time anyway.

Cheers

Cheers Guys

Hopefully there is some wind. I am thinking of taking my wetsuit, but just renting a kite and board while I'm there.

Thanks

Hey Saffie
ikiteboarding is the go, as everyone has mentioned. Windfinder is pretty good for wind prediction.( probably because it's a German site and the place is full of them)
Cape Town can get mental in winter. Huge NW winds and even more huge waves associated with the cold fronts that pass through at that time of year. Make sure to pack your extra large set of ballz!!

Suggest you contact Gavin at
cyclonekiteboarding.com/
Has a shop in Capetown and Durban, makes awesome boards and has lots of links to good info, forums and weather links. Stuff like fins about half our cost here.
Having just got back from Durban can't wait to try Cape Town one day, drinks and eating out so cheap at about $10 and people very nice. Crime mainly theft is an issue, so be cautious. Cape Town also has organised downwinder shuttle bus - ask at shops there. Have fun

How about Kite and board rental. I am thinking it might be too hard to take my own. Anyone ever rent gear in Cape Town. Can you rent everything, from harness to kite and board? Wetsuit?

Cheers

hey saffie i hope you enjoy you trip. For me kiting South Africa, or South Australia for that matter, has risks that outweigh the reward. This is what would be on my mind when i'm body dragging for my board.

P.S Maybe i just need to HTTFU!

Gee thanx Fattso...

Now I feel like I need to HTFU!!

I dig the song though!! Anyone know who does the background music?

Oh yeah, and anyone know where to rent gear from in Cape Town? I have done the old Google search, but am just looking for first hand experience.

South Africa has a LOT of dodgy operators.

Cheers

If you wan't a destination that is cheaper, more reliable, safer, not as crowded (LIKE NO ONE) that has better flexibility of locations and no... NO restrictions or conditions on how to.. Try australiankitesurfari.com.au
