How should good watermen be scored?

I do know executing moves in critical sections scores highly. This is understandable and recognizable. On a surfboard, this is one of the greatest moments.

In surfing comps, judges don't score the surfers effort paddling back out.

In windsurfing comps, they judge the whole performance - wave riding and wave jumping. It's exciting to watch too.

In kitesurfing, we have some wanna be surfers that recon strapless is the future....

Do we use the wind or do we pretend to surf on a board used for paddling?

I reckon we just can comps all together until someone is actually any good at it.

more points for those using a "bridal" kite .....in fact anyone who even dares to show up at the beach with a "bridal" kite wins....

We are talking about watermen. A real water man doesn't need a bridal/trainer wheels.
Bridals are for school kites and trend following soft co-ks with poorly cut mohawks.

If someone uses a surfboard in competition they should show what it is for. Lay on it and paddle. That's why they are that chunky and huge.

With a kite when riding sliders, why don't people use snowboards ?
If I was rowdy hitting sliders, I would want people to think Im a snowboarder cause they are crazier and the boards are super durable.

There are some messed up people pushing the wrong boards for the wrong sports.

There is the issue, they should rate surfers on their paddle out.

Kiters should also be rated on how agressively they pump up, more points for a crappy pump.

Only Race Kites can use an electric pump coz the image just fits well.
