G'day
Thursday i'll be gippsland north of moe pretty much and hour and a bit from sandy point or inverloch. given the forecast winds and tidezs, which would be a better bet? I ride freestyle with an ideal wind range of 18-23 knots.

Forecast for Thursday (Central Coast)
Winds: Southwesterly 20 to 30 knots tending south to southwesterly 15 to 25 knots during the afternoon then tending southerly 10 to 15 knots during the evening. Seas: Up to 3 metres decreasing to 2 metres during the evening. Swell: Southwesterly 2 to 4 metres.

Forecast for Thursday (Central Gippsland Coast)
Winds: Southwesterly about 30 knots decreasing below 20 knots during the evening. Seas: Up to 4 metres decreasing to 3 metres during the afternoon then decreasing to 2 metres during the evening. Swell: Southwesterly 1 to 2 metres.

I had 2 days last week at Sandy Pt and it was howling Westerly. Kited the inlet and the waves. I have always had more fun in the surf at Sandy point, but I've really only kited Inverloch in a SE.

As the forecast is SW my pick would be Sandy point (no idea what the tide is doing). The inlet is best in a SW just keep clear of the poleboarders. Only issue in the inlet for freestyle is the wind is offshore from the spit and if something goes wrong you need a boat lift back across the inlet. It is cross on in the waves just at Sandy Pt main beach.

Not sure how good Inverloch is in a SW.

James
