Ooooh, that looks like a good spot.
Has anyone got 500 bucks I can borrow to get the ferry there and back?

Just get your life jacket EPB, and flares and Kite across.

It's a fun spot
Bus stops at Little Salmon bay. Returns every hour ( last pickup is 4? i think )
Launch your kite off the beach and do a long tack straight across the bay. Starts off with a couple of hundred meters of flat water, then moves out across the reefs to a nice swell or wave break. Nice.
Couple of big tacks and you can easily make it to other side of the bay ( about 2kms )
Don't kite it alone, watch out for the hidden reefs that can pop up, but it's a good run.

The ride home (tail wind) will be easier than the ride out there (head wind).

If you've got a brother with an infant make him tow your gear in his kiddy trailer, hahhaa....

The ride out with kiddie trailer and gear ain't that much fun, but the ride back is ok.

Fun spot.
There can be some waves there that look like they would be fun to muck around on, but they weren't there when I actually kite.

I think there are better spots on the island, but for a quick kite in the midst of a family holiday Salmon is great.

Good fun spot
I kited it alone back in the day.
If i remember a SW is kinda onshore - bit too onshore to ride waves properly but fun nevertheless plus you have butter flat water on the inside.
However i remember lots of rocks appearing from nowhere.
Not sure about other winds.

and the beach is really small to launch from
