Fantastic!
What kite size are you using, and also what bar size?
I thought about going from a 50cm bar to a 55-60cm one to improve my loops..
U reckon that would make a significant difference?
Yeah I will work on that massive arc.. but most of the time I am just happy when the kite catches me, without having to do a pussyloop way at the edge of the wind window. ![]()
dude i was just taking the piss out of what dave said not the video... keep ur panties on..
I am doing something, im procrastinating from my calc assignments...
seeing as you all want a video so badly i guess i have to show you one now:
Yes Charl was taking the piss........ it's a forum.
I'd like to see real kiteboarding obstacles, not just little ones as we are not limited to the boat and the rope. slide on something, then go up on a rail 15-25% up on a bigger thing then a 60 foot kiteloop 7 for the landing....... Thats how to separate kiteboarding from wakeboarding. So far sliders and kites are in their infancy, but wait.......
Everyone know you judge how good a slider is by, how high it is and how many spins you can do before reaching the end.
dont tell people i actually do kitecircles dude, you know how long it took me to get people to believe i hate them?!
PPfftt!! Sliders are soft. Rock groins are the only thing to hit if ya wanna be LEGIT.
Charl knows it...
i hate spin to win on sliders... sliders arent there to go mega technical and do the most bar swaps as you can, its all about making one smooth hit, pressing the tail/ nose, different slide variations etc etc.
wide = easier to hit = fail
i would like to see you build and carry a 10m high box into the water and have it be able to withstand 25 knots of wind and still be safe for riders so you dont get rolled by their lawyer when they get f*cked up. hell that wall ride was hard enough to make secure (lol)
Spinning around on a wide dance floor slider is easier than doing it on flat water. I don't know why people froth on it or want to do it, I guess it's just the flyboarder in them.
Making rails higher isn't going to make it better and it definitely isn't going to make construction and transporting the stuff any easier. If you think bigger is better, search out "red bull golden jump" or something like that and see how stupid a really big ramp is kiting.
Yes Autofocus was a while ago now, but things have progressed a long way since then. Perhaps it may not seem like it to someone watching for a while at an event or whatever, but I think you will start to see some more cool videos coming out soon to represent this style better.
My prediction:
The future is narrower rails that are actually "rails" and not dance floors... I'm calling it now and I reckon you are going to see a big change in the wakeboarding world as well, give it 1 to 2 years and manual pad sliders will be gone from all top level wake videos and only the real rails will remain.
^^^^cool this threat is going somewhere. A good prediction. Top level reders will do it like Andre....................Autofocus, he's always pushed it...
