Hey all,
I have been doing a bit of research over the last couple of days as I beilieve I nearly have the skills on my trainer kite to buy a real one.
I have narrowed it down to either an SLE (Naish Boxer 07) or crossbow kite (cabrinha crossbow 07). I have seen a couple of second hand ones, and would prefer the SLE as its quite a bit cheaper meaning I could spend more on my board/harness/more lessons.
However most sites I have looked at recommend bow kites, but from the pictures, the boxer SLE looks quite similar in shape.
Any opinions??

yeah,basically the same.
They work the same,
SLE (supported Leading Edge) was a name created by Naish for their flat bridled kites.
Both good kites with lots of depower.
Cool, thanks. Good depower is the main thing I am looking for to start with I spose.
Id say a bandit or rebel, but really all new kites are great. id personally got to a more C shaped kite, and now they come with full depower.
From my half season riding experience on the bows (first generation bow) I find they water re-launch the easiest and fastest. The trailing edge concave and a more swept back wing that bow kites are said to have probably are the differences for better re-launch, both de-power well so that wouldn’t be a factor for either kites of bows and SLE's.
The kite with the easiest water re-launch might be more of a factor for a beginner like yourself when choosing between the two types. Then again bows are a bit more buisy at the bar and/or bridles.
