One of my sons friends borrowed an ION kite surfing harness and leash and accidentally used the emergency release ,Now we don't know how to put it back together . Can some one tell us what to do or where to find the answer, One end has a spike and the other is hidden by a 'sleeve'
Thanks

If connecting a safety leash is confusing you then I don't think it is wise to take the next step. But here is step one for you,.. thread the spike through the ring on your harness and then fold back against its connecting string, then slide the sleave up.

Once you have done this you can move to step two of flying the kite, as long as you set the go-pro up and post here.

If you don't know how to use a leash, should you really be using a kite?

I've never used a death-leash ....

but I'm sure it's not that difficult to work out.

I know it sounds crazy but it's understandable that some newbies don't know how their safety systems operate. Just looking at the lessons people are getting, students are completing one or multiple lessons without ever releasing or re-attaching their safety systems once... especially the leash release.

In our kite school, in order for students to regularly practice releasing and reassembling the leash we simply always hand them over a harness with a leash unattached every time so they need to figure it out from day 1. At the end of each lesson they practice releasing it as well.

It's pretty simple but most schools I've seen don't bother thinking that far, so I'm not even surprised we see threads like this one really...

This either seems like a troll post or a "I just stole some gear and need to assemble it again for Gumtree" post.
