Hi,
I'm fairly new to jumping. I've been kiting for a few years now.

I'm starting to notice that when I jump while riding switch, sometimes I rotate backwards, can't recover and end up landing backwards.

I'm don't have any issues when riding natural. I can't pinpoint whats causing the rotation. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips to correct would be appreciated.

Thanks,

When you jump, pull your knees up into your chest and try not to take your kite to much past 12 while your learning to jump switch.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is the difference between switch and toeside?

Switch is when you ride with your opposite foot forwards.

for example I'm naturally goofy (Right foot forwards as opposed to being regular (left foot forwards) to me riding switch is riding with my left leg forwards.

Switch as mentioned in the post above refers to riding with your less comfortable foot forward. I am a natural footer (left foot forwards) so when I switch I put my right foot forward.

Toeside is when you dig the toeside edge of your board into the water, as opposed to heel side (standard kiteboarding stance) allowing you to travel in the other direction but keeping your comfortable foot forward.

Probs better to say port and starboard
as far as the unintended rotation goes it almost always starts at takeoff
focus on balance in your pop
