I dont understand, if the dump valve is OK and the inflate valve is worn and leaks, why cant you pump through the delfate valve?

if the inflate valve is leaking it's best to stay away from the kite altogether and use another one until the leak is fixed.

The inflate valve can be strectched by other pumps, especially when they use your gear without your permission. Then the dump valve does the job.

Dave, that's just wrong...

eppo, it's a good one when you can't pack up off the beach. Easier with a small kite than a 14m though..

Fair enough there's not much you can do about wear and leaks but surely the dump valve is specifically intended for dumping and as such should be respected as a one way.....?

You respect your kite, and after 5-10 years the valves will still be in good condition, no need to trade up.

My wife cant work out what i'm laughing about.

How old is your wife? You obviously have this problem with your old kite.

my usually dependable old pump nozzle doesnt even touch the sides of these new big super fast inflate valves. I can pump like crazy but she won't go up and just lays there flat looking sorry for herself. Then I'll have to borrow someone else's nozzle to finish off

I find about 100 pumps finishes the kite off on the inflate valve. Fully swelled up.
But 1 pump in the deflate collapses the whole kite and hard to pump up again.

North is the only company that has a deflate valve at the tip of the leading edge but I dont know if thats the way you still need to roll them that way.

Flexifoil have a dump valve at the tip.
Also, I pump through the middle dump valve, it goes both ways so takes less time. fnar fnar

But if you roll her both ways you keep the dump valve open and exposed for easy access makes for easier pumping.
