Most guys roll one tip at a time. I dont understand why.... Its like setting your bar and lines upwind when you dont have to.....????

I grab both tips and roll.

North riders usually have to refer to their instruction manual

Seriously Dave though if you are being serious how do you physically grab both tips and roll man. I'm always looking for ways to do this quicker?

Yep I'm with Dave on this one, deflate the kite then just fold the kite in half so wingtips are together, any bridles tucked in between, then roll from the wingtip to the centre.

pull the deflate valve, grab both wingtips and fold in half. you roll once instead of twice, and keep the sand out of the inside of the kite.

Fair enough and getting air out of the struts while you do this ??

I'm gonna give it a crack!

Hardly ever deflate more than my leading edge cos I can get so much kiting aroung where I live. Also, leaving struts inflated a) allows a wet kite to dry if I stand it up in my kitesurfing shed and b) means less pumping to get ready for the next session.

Yes, I understand that if the temperature increases dramatically that the air could expand and damage the struts, but NZ does not get the massive temperature fluctuations like Australia, due to the regulatory influence of the surrounding ocean.

I win

Not an option here. Well some do but I can't, have been known to get up in the middle of the night to let down struts. It's a neurotic sickness probably.

Regardless of which way you roll fold or sit on your kite...

Every now n then use a variations to reduce the common crease lines on the material and the bladder... theyll inevitability become weak points

Yep, the benefits are, it pushes the air out of the kite as you roll so the other end doesnt unroll , you can get the air out of 2 struts at a time, and you keep the sand on the outside of your kite not roll it in the inside. This keeps the sand rubbling against struts/leading edge and the canopy, and out of pulleys.

Geez guys, Ive been more red thumbed than Eppo! Must be a lot of double rollers out there.

Dave, that's just wrong...

eppo, it's a good one when you can't pack up off the beach. Easier with a small kite than a 14m though..

No **** just tried it with a 14m got myself in a bloody mess and had to pack it the normal way. Lol.

Ps you guys are shocking, cause its true. Lol.

Pss you got red thumbed, not because of the roll technique its because you had a crack at north riders. The mass mob it is descended on you like an avalanche of possessed demons.

Psss don't believe me watch the red thumbs now! Omg help you if you bag precious north kites. Lol

I dont understand, if the dump valve is OK and the inflate valve is worn and leaks, why cant you pump through the delfate valve?

Fair enough there's not much you can do about wear and leaks but surely the dump valve is specifically intended for dumping and as such should be respected as a one way.....?

Green thumb from me eppo. Poor relo and I were the first to get the 2006 rebel, no wonder he still stuffs it in the back of the ute in a ball. I went and saw Dan to see how to get it back in the bag without snapping all those battens. North is the only company that has a deflate valve at the tip of the leading edge but I dont know if thats the way you still need to roll them that way.

I wish I had a kite bich that would roll any way I want, bloody jealous of default

You respect your kite, and after 5-10 years the valves will still be in good condition, no need to trade up.
