I had never heard of this until I read your post and I just bought a spanking new Hero 5 black yesterday. Bummed !!!!
That revl arc look like a neat bit of gear. The self editing function will save a lot of time if it does the job.
Yeah, they look pretty sweet seems they have only just become available recently. Maybe someone had pre-ordered theirs and had received it. They maybe be bit expensive though once you consider the exchange rate they end up being almost $600.
Was looking at it but it took so long I bought a Yi 4k and am pinning my hopes on the Quark mount (noirmatter.com/)
Same type of thing but you can upgrade the camera at will.
Yeah I've seen those quark gimbles my only concern would be the weight if you where line mounting it? Plus they have sold out until March, so you probably won't see it till awhile after that.
I like the concept but wouldn't a replaceable gimbal be more versatile? Especially if there is better camera tech out there.
G'day...mine arrived yesterday after almost 12 months ....hardware good but I can't get android phone to do the look-at-files and edt and gps stuff.....are u using android phone? Can u offer any advice? REVL simply don't reply (as usual unfortunately)....I simply downloaded the app from Google Pay Store....but all I can do is p air and get live view.....none of the 'my camera' stuff nor access to the app functions...appreciate any comment u can offer
thanks

iPhone so cannot help sorry.
yer got mine pretty happy with the footage.ptetty smooth with the kite looping or throw it around
but does get mixed up if the kite goes the 12 and the camera is facing downwards
with the strut mount
Here is a test video I made using the Revl software.
This was shot in 1080p 60fps but has been compressed by YouTube so looks pretty ordinary
It's windy, stop wasting your time n money on this ego boosting bollocks $ 600 will buy you a second hand SUP,
big kite or a class prostitute for the night if you bored
REVL is too heavy to line mount IMO. If you want to line mount buy GoPro Session 5. If you want to do anything else buy Yi 4K (/+) or Hero 5.

What is good with revl is no post editing as the gimbal sorts out most of the movement. Not perfect but better than GoPro IMO
It is far from perfect but the video comes out well. Looking forward to a good day.
How did you keep your hair dry the entire session!? ;-)
I waited over 1,5 years for the revl and left it. Bought a Gorpo5 end of last year but it froze when using the remote almost every session. I dont think GoPro 6 will be any different.
Does the Revl have a remote control you can use in water? They've never answered me and I guess I know why.... editing 2 hours of ****ty footage is horrible but when you have 30 clips that are 12-30 seconds each per wave... much easier.

Remote is being designed now. The main dude is a kiter so he is pretty keen to get the kiting side down pat.

Good to know but they were 12-18 months late in launching the initial camera post live date. I assume remote is much easier though to get out (Waterproof) ;-)

I agree, it's a great idea, but far too heavy if you're doing anything un-hooked... just bounces around too much. Even regular GoPros are on the heavy side for line mount tricks and the REVL weighs more.

Any update on remote? ;-)
