Does anyone have any experience with repair of a kite board. Mine has a crack under the footpad on the underside. I had it repaired but the plastic layer made the repair very difficult and didn't hold. Does anyone know if a good way of removing the plastic layer effectively to enable a proper repair?

The plastic was sanded off in the area but made an absolute mess.
It does not seem to peel off, my next thought is to use a heat gun to carefully delaminate the plastic.

Thanks

Will never repair effectively.
Replace it.

it's hard to say without a picture but I tend to agree with JohnyMc.

I had cracks around the footstraps on a high end North Twin tip before, tried fixing it multiple times. Even with epoxy resin and layers of fiberglass, it simply never held together.

If your crack is to the core of the board and the crack moves when you flex the board, I'd say forget about it.

Thanks guys I appreciate the responses. Devistated though as it is only 4cm long and less than a year old. Maybe I need to lay off the beers and also not edge so hard!
