How competent a kiter do you have to be to do the downwinder?

Who's doing it?

And does anyone have a link to the donation site so I can at least donate if I can't go?
(The link from the events page here and on the WAKSA site takes me to the 2011 page on the donation site)

Down winder = head out, head in - end up downwind of where you started. Takes less effort than trying to hold your ground and therefore more fun for less effort

This down winder is fantastic! I went out last year with less than half a day's ocean riding under my belt and I learnt soo much and my riding improved heaps (i ended up doing the whole 14k's because no one else wanted to stop at floz). Plus all your extra gear turns up at brigton and no one has to drive back to pick up a car! (And your helping kids with cancer!)

Looking forward to it already!

Well I reckon I scrape in on the competencies ;)

Looking forward to it!

Wives and kiddies are welcome at the event I assume?
Do we need to bring any food or drinks etc?

There is a compulsory beer tax for all event newbies, food is optional.

How's the prep going?

Not many days left to fundraise

You've got a fair committee size at WAKSA, but do you guys need any help?

I would really like to help, however with family, work and studies, I don't have a lot of time on my hands.

If you let me know what sort of help is required, I can try and find a way to help.
