Im just wondering if there is any major difference between the 2007 rebel bar and the 2008 bar? I already have a 07 rebel bar and am looking into buying a 08 Rebel... I have heard that the depower cleat on the 08 bar is much smaller? is that the only difference?

thanks in advance!

the depower cleat (iron heart is smaller). So is the safety release on the chicken loop. IMO the iron heart mod is an improvement. The safety release is a step backwards as it is known to cut hands as it has a sharp bit on it. The old release had a metal spring which was a lot more durable than the current set up with a bit of elastic....
floaties off the rear lines are smaller as well..

Soo there isn't a very big difference at all?

not really... The iron heart is easier to adjust the bar throw as well. But the safety release in my opinion is a concern. Open the system and check out the hooky sharp bit....

having both bars i think the 08 is much better, the sliding stopper actually works and the ease of adjusting the depower length is very handy and easy, because these are hybrid kites many people like to set them up sort of like c-kites, and i do use my 08 bar on my 06 Rhino and it works a treat. One small down fall on the 08 is that the ironheart doesnt spin, and as i do most of my spins in one direction i end up with twists, the 07 one you can spin them out at the ironheart. No probs with the 08 cleat it works a treat.

I agree with ali,

The 2008 bar is much more functional. The chicken loop release is much less bulky, and I found it easier for unhooked riding. Got to try the 08 rebel in nuking winds and was very impressed with it.

Anyone know why they put the lock tube on the side of the chicken loop?

The most important thing.
The fifth line that goes threw the Y (metal ring) it's stronger and doesn't tear like
the 07.
