Lost a rear quad fin on my nugget, is it better to replace them with asymmetric fins which it came with flat on one side or symmetrical fins with same profile both sides.The board is to be used primarily as a light wind board with upwind ability. Any Fin gurus out there ,as I have no idea in this field, is one better than the other?Cheered Rod.
Fins are an important part of a design package like the nugget Or any sb for that matter. As an outlier design( not your standard sb design ) I think the nugget would be quite specific about its fin needs to work at its best.
Stay with the design layout. Quad ( nugget ) all asymmetric , trifin one symmetrical and two asymmetric. There is a reason I am sure.
I have lost fins on the nugget - just replace and get back into it. Cheers. 
Commonly quads rears are asymmetrical. Asymmetrical fins are more stable at speed with less drag, and as kiting we are more often going much quicker than we are when were surfing it's probably better to stick to the symmetrical foiled fins in the back.
When I need to replace a quad rear or just want to upsize for more hold, I replace them with 2 regular centre fins from a thruster setup. I like the
basic futures fiberglass F4 or EA medium shapes.

... adding to the previous posts, depending upon which Nugget you have, the rear fins can make a big difference.
The rear fins on a 2012/2013 Nugget are swept back and smaller, with the 2014 Nugget rear fins more upright and slightly larger than the 2013/2012. Both have the foil as asymmetrical and slightly canted outwards like the front fins.
I smacked one of my front fins on a reef recently while on holidays so the only fins I could get where a set of Furture fins Stamp model which had the same fronts but the rears were different. I put the front fins in and left the new rears out, using the original ones and I continued with the fun.
Back home I decided to try the other rear fins I bought which are similar to the older style (racked back but similar surface area), but the foil was more symmetrical, not flat but almost even foil.
WOW what a difference!
The new fins made the board feel very different indeed, almost as if it was a tri fin set up. Looser and not so grippy in gybes and with a softer feel, the gybe arc is wider. With the original fins being more upright, you can feel the grip which allows the board to snap around without breaking free rather than carve when pushed harder.
I also found that the ride is softer with the upwind not as good too but I think it might make the board faster too since the board isn't bouncing around as much. On the face of it, I think that I can use the board in stronger winds with the Stamp fins or even in bigger waves, not sure yet as I haven't tried it yet but it does feel like it. If using the Stamps in the 2014 Nugget, you will definetly feel the loss of upwind but then again, on downwinders its fun too.
The older nuggets with the wider tails can use the smaller curved fins but I'd say the would also be better with the flat foil too, I'd say the Stamps with the symmetrical foils would be too loose. Again not sure as I haven't tried it for myself.
See if you can borrow some and try for your self.
