Hey guys just had possibly the worst day of my life at Safety bay ....first my RRD bar chicken loop assembly destroyed it self..shattered then my rrd 2012 after 2 hrs of fly time burst mid air... so lost my kite and lines in one day...so no more second hand stuff..

i m looking at buying a free style kite and i have sort of short listed two kites and cant make my mind
1. Mr Green WAINMAN - read some really good reviews and seems like a good kite.
2. Ozone Reo - its very smooth but doesn't have the quick turn .I love the bar . but its a wave riding kite..catalyst havnt ridden it but have heard good stuff about it

I have read some really good stuff about both these kites but cant find any critical analysis. People only have good stuff about them both.

Any other recommendations .

did 2 seasons on wainman
very good all round kites very simple, bar is great soft ends good swivel, and good in the waves
the wainman have alot of bridle options that make a big difference to how it flys

Catlyst is a nice kite boost a bit highter than the rabbit but both good allrounders

good show on the kite popping there were a few broken kites today

Really the bar sucks. It's good when riding fully powered but as soon as you have some DEPOWER pulled the stupid ball gets twisted between the y lines or gets all amongst ya fingers when riding. With the older design this wasn't a problem as the free flapping end was looped back to the main line. Google pics for a better understanding as I'm currently a bit unsober. When new there is a stupid little magnet that rusts out in a few weeks.

What do you mean by freestyle? If you mean dedicated unhooked tricks - handle passes etc then I'd be looking at the C4. The Catalyst is capable for freestyle (Patrick Blanc) but the C4 will sit a bit deeper and give you more slack.

Catalyst is an all-round freeride kite.

"Ozone Reo - its very smooth but doesn't have the quick turn"

I have both a Reo and a Cat and the Reo turns way bloody fast compared to the Cat! Actually a bit too fast for my liking.

Ozone Reo - freestyle, No!

Freestyle you want to look at - Fuel, Razor, Torch, C4, RPM, maybe the Chaos if you want the worlds most complicated bar
