Riding RRDs. They don't make pure C kites anymore as you probably know.
I was just wondering - out of curiousity - how good a C kite was/is RRD Type 8 (from 2007) measured by the standard of today?

Liked the type 8's...last c-kite RRD made.
The Double depower system on the bar (similar to the naish Doubledepower one-day-fly) was pretty bad but easy to remove.

Fast kite, fast turning, low end not really good, high end reasonable.
Low aspect ratio, comparable with the Torch of the same year.

proper C-kite, so loads of pull in turns (and loops), good recovery/catch for landings if timed right.

And yes! with the special RRD power-zip on the middle strut, clogged up with sand after 2 sessions but didn't really do anything anyway.

Nice kite, sometimes wonder if we couldn't go back to '06/ '07 and ride those kites...(rhino '06 and torches '07 s) I personally don't think kites gotten any better (safer maybe....but not performance wise...)

so yeah....buy one!
