Pretty long thread on kiteforum.com on these, however have not been able to find any local feedback on them.

Anyone got any info? I'll be looking at a 12m.

Disclaimer: I'm Andy, I work at SOS.

I went to Egypt to try this kites for a few weeks before they were released (sucks to be me). They are great. More all-round than the type9, which was pretty much a straight wave kite.

The Obsession is still fast turning, but better upwind, lighter bar pressure (somewhere between type9s and hypertype2s), better boosting and better unhooked.

More power (than the type9) as well. Many guys who were on type9 9s and 12s are now going for Obsession 7s and 10.5s.

I could TELL you how awesome it is, or you could come demo one down at sos!!

I'm keen to try this kite. What sizes are available for demo?

Yep, I was flying one - a 7m in about 20 - 25 knots. The kite is smother and more stable than my last 7 a type 9. The big difference for me after 2 or 3 sessions is the massive range of this kite. I can stay upwind at around 16 knots (having to sine the kite alot) and have been quite comfortable 30 knots plus. I weigh 88kg and ride a surfboard.
If you like slow kites the obsession is not for you... it's fast and direct with continuous power through the turns.
So far, I'm very happy. I think for WA summer I will only need a 7 & 9 this year as the obsession has so much bottom end.
