One of the major shops is touting the SS RPM as "do everything". ..even good for novices. Thoughts on the good for novices part?

Wouldn't be the first choice learner kite but it's not too bad. Nice big bar and decent line length and it would be ok.

I learnt with RPMs no problem, as did my son. This was some 4/5 years ago. I have a quiver of 8 and don't even think about trying anything else

Our take on the RPM is that it is a kite that you can never have a bad session on it.

It certainly isn't a hard kite to learn on and is very easy and forgiving to fly.

The best way is to ask your local shop for a demo on one to try it for yourself.

Otherwise flick us a message and we can line up a demo for you.

Yep sure are.

We are running our Australia Wide Demo tour again.

No dates set yet. That is being planned right now!!

However your best bet would be to hit up your nearest Slingshot dealer as they should have some demo models. Our Brisbane dealer is Surf Connect & Gold Coast dealer is SurfFX

Is this a legit post or are you trolling???

Sorry I had to ask because it wasn't that long ago now we all learnt on 2 and 4 line kites with basically no depower... practically any kite sold these days is good enough for learning (besides a foil), they just have different characteristics. If it's within your budget, it's a good kite .

p.s. That's assuming you've flown trainer kites and had some lessons etc.

Troll id say.

Afaik slingshot peaked in the mid 2000's and have been chasing former glory ever since. Just can't seem to get it right and undo the damage done by horrible almost unrideable gear e.g. Turbo diesel, rev, early RPMS, the bridled Fuel................etc etc

Seriously.

Nothing wrong with the early RPMs. I still ride my 7 year old RPMs occasionally. Zero problems even after dropping them in cyclone swell waves and the odd tree. Bridles are a bit stretched though so they don't depower as well as they used to.

You want me to start listing all the abortions Cab, Naish, Wipka etc made??? I wouldn't say SS has made anymore f#ckups than these other companies and imo when they have (bladders falling apart etc.) they have handled the situation very well, which can't be said for similar situations at other brands...

SS make gear that works whilst trying to steer clear of kooky bullsh!t, I don't even ride SS but I give them credit for that.

I've ridden Slingshot, for nearly 10 years, yes they have had there issues in the mid 2000's but hey what brand hasn't. Revs, Rallys, Sst, Turbo T3 and Fuel. I never had any drama getting parts, they make good quality gear that has resale value.
As slingshot Australia said demo one.
