Hi folks,
I am kind of schyzophrenic and keep changing my stuff. Right now I have an RPM 14m that does the job in 10-15knots... In those conditions, I go where I want on the spot, I do my lill rolls and the kite is always where it needs to be in the window so I just sail away and pull the trigger for another one. Currently I own Nobile t5 12, 50-50 10m and t5 7m. I much prefer the 50-50, I just like where it sits in the window.
Iyiu read all sorts if things:
Rpm has no bottom end- I use my current 10m in 13-30knots
Rpm is sloooow? The 14 is but by playing with the settings is is quite fun how about the rpm 2914, 10m
Rpm is bad in gusts: the 14 was brillint in 12-23knots one day. 23 is close to its top end but comfy.
83kg, I was thinking 14-10-7, I hit winds in the 8-40knots range. I also own a secret 5m for 35-40 knots... So what would be the usable wind range of the 10 in your opinion?
hey bro
i rock 14,10 and 7 RPM
im 95 kg and ride my 10m from 35-55 kmph comfy and can push it to round 60
im a very stoked rpm rider, park and play
I have a 9 & 14 at the moment and will get the 11m for summer to fill in the gap.
I think the bottom end is really good 9m at around 16kn and so far up to 35kn with no problem. Well was well within its wind range for my weight 89kg
My 14 is slow because im using a small bar and hope to be fixing that up soon. But its low end not too far off all my friends with Zephyrs.
Think my quiver for next year will be 8,11,14
Yeh that would have you pretty much perfectly covered. Im running 12 / 9 at 60 kg. it would be good to get a 7 too. Maybe next season. Im stoked on the 2014 rpm by the way.
Hey flipper231BA
People love to knock anything with the SS logo.
Every point you quote as having 'heard' is crap.
The RPM is an awesome x-over kite for a bit of this & bit of that. If you dont rate the RPM then you just dont know it.
(but no kite does everything & in covering all styles it does suffer a tad from lack of bottom end for size - no problem just pump ur bigger one)
AND NO! I dont sell them. I just know they are a great, stable, all-rounder. Right up to unhooked freestyle.

i did half a season with only a 10 when i first went to rpm's (2013 model). its got a pretty big range id say 17 to 25 would be its comfortable range for me. there is nothing wrong with the way it handles gusts either. i actually love the 10m but didnt want to buy a quiver when i hadn't even demoed one yet. then about 4 months later i traded the 10 and got the 12 / 9 thing happening. (also because the 10 was a bit of a lemon and the zip blew appart twice bursting the bladder both times)
Hey glendog I got an email yesterday in regards to a part re cal from slingshot on the new carbon fiber pulley slider on the 2014
Apparently once the red color rubs away its snaps the bridal. Il post the email.
just thought I'd relay the info

Last summer we developed a metal friction ring to replace the plastic bridal pulleys on the 2014 RPM. The goal was to introduce a lighter and more durable part. The new rings were extensively tested over the course of many months and approved for production. Unfortunately, in the transition to volume production an OEM manufacturer defect with the red colored coating process surfaced. Depending on the amount of use and the sand conditions at your local beach, the red coating can wear and leave a small burr on the sliding surface. If this happens, it will cause wear on the bridal line, which will eventually need replacement.
Solutions:
As of March 2014, we have reverted to the original plastic Ronstan pulley that was used in previous years. All 2014 RPM?s are now delivered from the factory with this change already made. If your kites arrive with plastic pulleys installed, then no action is required. You only need to explain the reason for the change to the customer.?

Red Metal PullEy
Kites produced prior to March 2014 were delivered with the red metal pulley. We have developed a pulley replacement kit that takes about 5 minutes to swap out the parts. It includes four plastic Ronstan pulleys spliced onto two short replacement bridal lines. Detailed printed instructions are enclosed in the kit, plus a short instruction video will be available on the website.

?Pulley Replacement Kits
The replacement kits are available free of charge. If you need replacement kits simply place an order at orders@slingshtosprots.com and we will send them out. If a customer needs a kit, they should first be directed to their local local dealer. Alternatively, they can be ordered directly from Slingshot?s customer service hotline.?

These are pictures from post above regarding pullys.
On a happier note rode my 14m today in 15-25 knots.
Lite up!
Ah, i was just thinking of replacing all my pulleys with these very soon. good to know.
i had the same idea , glad my local dude sent this out
on my 9m (2012 model but only 10 months old) i noticed the bridals are pretty worn, just really skinny where the pully roles up and down. i assume its from the pulley getting jamed with sand and stopping the wheel from spinning. i thaught the slider might have stopped that. spewin i was loving the sliders.
Ok, so today I rode the 14m in 15-20knots and 10-15, played a bit with the trim, so that 14m has the low end and top end of... Well, a 14m. If they kept this across the whole range, the 10m should be a good kite for 15-25knots with the possibility to handle 13knots lulls and 27-28 puffs.in my world, this covers 80% of what I like to ride and the 14m proved itself in 8-22knots (including puffs and lulls). So Thanks to all for your advices, I got good info...
I am 75kg and ride my 10m RPM from 15-30.
Can just stay upwind at 15 but I have a 13m fuel as well so...
18-25 it is grand
Mind you, no surprise. I'm still waiting for the Australian Slingshot distributor to contact me regarding my lines of my 13m which were different sizes hence a terribly poor flying kite which pulled hard to the left. Dropped the bar in a week after Easter. Left my name & phone number (he knows me anyway) and am yet to hear a thing.

yeh slingshot said they would have the australian distributer sent me replacement pulleys within the next few days, that was about 3 weeks ago. and when i rang the shop up where i baught the kite she said shed find out and of course she never rang back.
How did you go Glendog? Get your pullies?
The Aussie distributor who runs a shop here in ADELAIDE contacted me by PM on here saying they had lost my details and could I resend. I replied back but a week later I still haven't heard a thing. So they had it since a touch after Easter and still nothing.
Going well. ![]()
