im tossing up between the REV or CROSSBOW 3.
ive been kiteing for about a year, mainly do downwinders on the sunnycoast. so this means i mainly ride in the surf. i am looking at the 11m and the 12m repectively
both kites seem pretty good to me and i really need to decide on which money i will fork out the money on.
help would be thanked![]()
Consider the Switchblade 3. I've got about a year of experience too, and after upgrading to this kite recently I cannot say enough good things about it.
It is super stable and does everything really well. Was on an Airush Flow last season and after moving to the Cabrinha I am loving the whole setup, the bar rules and the bar pressure is perfect I reckon. Just my 2 cents worth. cheers.
Definately agree with above two replies. Dont compare Xbow to REV. If you want a real comparison it has to be SB3 & REV. Both great kites, both better for surf than the Xbow. Very similar but for mine the REV is the GO if for no other reason than the bar set-up. Try them both if you can - preferably for a few hours each.
Good luck.
I havent flown the rev or the sb3 but according to cabhrinas website, the sb3 is there dedicated freestyle kite. If you are wanting a cab for the waves then they recomend the revolution or the cb3.
Depends on what you are looking for, if its turning speed you want, the Rev is much faster, if you want low end, the SB3.
I saw Ben Wilson out at Mudjimba recently on a Rev and looked like a good surf kite. I would go for the SB3 though as I ride a TT in the surf - I demo'd a 12m SB3 a few months ago and it's a great simple setup compared to the REV.
You might like to consider a Blade Vertigo as tested in KBM this month. At $1295 for a 12m it will be hard to go wrong.
Both awesome kites... I wouldnt be stressing too much about it
Sunseeker was right, if you are riding a TT in the surf I would definately recommend the SB3.
I ride a twin tip in the surf and love the Rev to death, could not be happier specially with the safety system doesn't tangle and easy to water relaunch after a few tumbles when completely flagged out. plus slingshot has that extra durabilty factor
Come in and grab one of each and go test for yourself.
Hard choice I must say between the SB3 and the Rev.
Only way to really decide is to try them and see wich one suits your style.
Its a lot like comparing blonds to brunettes!
Both great!!
But every one favours one or the other for personal reasons.
Either way you cant go wrong.
Hi mate
I would say you have got two awesome kites on your short list and you won’t go wrong either way.
I ride the REV in waves and you won't find a better kite for surfing it’s is just easy.
