One can only wish!
I would hazard a guess that the ferry costs and other kit transfer services will quickly reduce the bar-spend.

Considering organizers of mountain bike races in WA will gladly ask you to part with $100, I think this is a steal.

that be nice but it be used for things like fuel for the support boats, insurance, transport...Maybe the winners shout a few rounds at the bar. The beers at TSC are the cheapest at any Sailing Club in the country ;)

No they pay me well, and I do a great job due to the fact they pay me well.

Thanks for asking..

How about yourself?

Maybe you should find a good job that pays you well, and then you can hand over those cabrina pieces of rubbish you have in buy/sell to homeless people so they can make a tent or two.

Thanks man, suspicions confirmed!
I only asked you because I am self employed and employ a couple of other guys. It's the only reason I can take a guess that putting on an event might take that tiny bit more than collecting entry money and putting it all in your pocket.

I hope I didn't offend you with my guesses and I'm sure you do a great job for the people you work for (in between posting on seabreeze). Self employed people are excused from daytime posting because time off to post = no getting paid for the time off to post. Therefore it's a conscious choice. Can't say id be excited if the guys I were paying to do work took as much time as me to read forums and post, but hey, we are living in a material world and I am a material girl (or boy).

Cheers also for the idea of me finding a job that pays me well, I'll take that on board and have a look through the job ads I guess? Your input in that respect is invaluable.

Finally on the "rubbish" kites I have for sale, they've been on there for ages and haven't really had enquiries about them apart from a beginner and in his case I recommended that he look at newer stuff. They are certainly priced to sell, both under $500. ($200 and something for 1, and $300 and something for the other I think). The idea of giving them away to homeless people for tents doesn't appeal to me I guess because in Melbourne public camping isn't allowed and I also fear that homeless people may be picked on by people like you for having a big cabrihna logo above their heads?

Have an awesome day mate, hope you get some of that great work done!

What day is the actual race going to be on? Can't see it anywhere?

Also get in quick, Sail Townsville, Magnetic Island Race Week and a large mining conference all in town at the same time.

You sound quite bitter Daniel.

Can I ask what you do for work? Your not from Frankston are you?

Well Marvin, considering you're a top 5 racer in the world (checked last month), and knowing how your adrenalin coarses throughout your veins, and you'll be in the race - I would say YES PLEASE! For us mere mortals of course!

But to be honest, I think bugger it! Let's just race! Who gives a toss whether there are foilers, racers and Twinnies out there? Lets' just ride baby!

Who knows, kites could collapse, feet slip off their cushy pads, egos cracking under pressure, and in the end I could be the one cruising past the lot of you in my 15m fossil kite and be the tortoise that won the race!

Bring it on!

Events like this require a good team of people and organisations. I am just the lucky guy that gets all the love on Seabreeze :) Anybody that has done the L2L or any other ocean crossing races knows how exciting this one will be. Take off from Alma Bay is almost as epic as Rottnest Island. Then a month later the same M2S race will be done with the Fastest guys in the world most of them on hydrofoils during the Kitefoil Gold Cup. Then I said:
Yes you can ask what I do for work. Naturally you can ask. I see no reason why you couldn't ask. In fact I think you have every right to ask.

Not from Frankston, not that there would be anything wrong with that if I was. I have a very modest house on a quiet little road called beach road in a very modest suburb called black rock in Melbourne. I'd think all of us that live on that road in this suburb would consider ourselves modest people with modest means.

Could I say modest any more?

Didn't mean to sound bitter nobs, 'twas purely an observation of employee mentality of cost of sales + number of sales = pure profit. Simply observing your mathematics and how it doesn't actually 'cost' money to do anything apart from hand out a prize. I think it was just a joke type mathematical comment thrown out from you (in fact I hope it was) if it was a 'factual' observation, I'm not bitter, more sad for your lack of understanding at what goes into things like this. Having said that, no point being sad because I'm sure you were joking. As I'm sure you were joking about housing homeless people under cabrihna kites. (Even homeless people have standards after all).
