Hi, I just pulled out my 2009 naish helix kite and a 2009 direct drive bar I believe. The first problem was that the pigtails where on the wrong side as in he knot was on the middle line when it was supposed to be on the other side. So my friend and I winged it and rd necked it, mad it work. So then we tried to get it up it seem to want to stay on the ground and not fly but when I got it up it seemed to be powered up with the bar fully extended out? Just seemed weird would anyone have solutions for this? My idea would be get the right pigtails and put some longer pigtails in the middle lines or the outside lines? Please help really wanting to fly this kite!
Hi 1Newbee,
Most of the kite brand have the following standard : The line should all be under tension when the pigtails are attached to a pole and you pull on the bar. The quick release should the against the bar.
If you have any difference on the lines, you should adjust it. After that you will do all the adjustment on the kite. Never touch the bar again.
Now you can set up your kite. Fly the kite on a really light wind day. Put the kite up in the air. Then pull the bar against the chicken loop. If the kite back stall then your should make the back line longer (adjust the back pigtails on the kite) until the kite is stable and doesnt back stall anymore.
WARNING : ONLY DO THIS OIN REALLY LIGHT WIND.
Hope this will help

I’m no guru on specific brand setups but I did manage to tune my Crazyfly bar/lines by following the general points described in a Cabrinha YouTube video I found. Do a search on “cabrinha bar tuning” and you should find something that will help, also have a look at Kitesurfing- General- Kitesurfing Articles- "How to tune your kite line lengths". Look to the right on the Seabreeze General page and you’ll probably see it. Hope this helps…
