it's already late/end of the season there but you might get lucky...also it might be when the dangerous stingers start to arrive in these waters...

check the weather a few days out but you should get some wind
stingers don't usually come before the rains
I'm going to be there as well the week of melbourne cup
shoot me a message if you want to get out there
I'm also unsure of weather I'll be eaten by crocs or stung by stingers etc
i emailed a local shop for info who said bring your biggest kite
