he wasnt boosting, he was being tea bagged outa control, I saw it flip inside out uncontrolably before I had to rescue him with the waroo, it was the only kite fast enough and controlable enough to get up close... One boost and I flew from the top of the bay down next to him, landed softly, plucked the little hamster from danger and flew him to safety

VB I didnt see you there but because your so concerned - FYI
the wind was coming SSE so the people in the Photo were actually upwind

- didnt anybody tell you that launching a kite directly down wind is dangerous and impossible to hold for the launcher

Just a little background on that photo. Neil Anderson was landing the kite on the right hand side of the window as the wind was coming almost on shore at the time.

I was to his left, and 5-10m downwind. On a horizontal plane where 12 is in front and 6 is behind, I was maybe 11 o'clock from his POV (while his kite was at his 3), but the camera zoom makes it looks a lot closer. And you're right Carl, everyone else you see in the photo was upwind of the kite.

I'm usually pretty careful when I'm in the water too. I always leave room to duck under in case anyone arcs their kite towards my head , but I've only had to do that once (thanks Rohan!) I stand at just over waist depth, otherwise known as minimum shark depth.

Dear Karl. Yes I was not there, my POV was from my desk in my study, it is obvious the kite is being landed not launched (see guy scrambling to get hold of it).
Not quite sure what the bug up your arse is, but I think I should not have posted anything regarding safety when there is a best kite in foto.
P:S what does-FYI mean?

Dear carl, My original post was not in any way a slam or attack on you or your current sponsor.
My first viewing of the said foto was that of someone scrambling to catch the kite, a few people on the left of the kite, therefore downwind if the kite is close and is that you in the background seemingly making moves to assist?
I in no way attacked you carl, so I don,t know what your problem is!

Bad vibes must be good for business.
When I clicked onto the last pic,
all I saw was a BEST ad next to a frantic kite-betty.
Where's the safety issue ?
Where's the danger ?
That's the sh1t I want to see.....not more pimp stuff.

Is that a dried-up dead blow-fish caught in the lines ?

Regards,
slave.
