not sure why you would want to but anyway for iphone is easy....
Download the video on "youtube downloader" and then convert the file to MP4 using "handbrake' copy the movie into itunes and sync with your phone .....Also the best way to get movies on to your ipad. Both youtube downloader and handbrake are free downloads.

What he means by this is that the youtube video has an option to select to make it viewable on Mobile devices. Nothing to do with downloading/converting.
If you have an Android, it's viewable even though it comes up saying not available for Mobile devices.
