Wow, I actually didn't know Cabrinha has been owned by the Neil Pryde group for 20 years. I suspect there will be a new brand called Pryde Kites soon now that Cabrinha is independent ![]()

I was told the details by an industry guy, can't remember them but it boiled down to Pete owning the name and design, NP owning the factories and the agreement was, NP made everything.
Fingers crossed with the Chinese money-men not in the mix trying to make money and reduce loses, we might actually see some product arrive on time... or something like that.

Yeah I'm still waiting on the 2020 modular bar that you can attach the fireball, quick loop or rope slider in seconds.
I'm pretty sure the Spin way back was that NP wanted in on the kite market and approached Pete to use his name.
Their 2021 kites are being advertised already, they have built in anti tree technology, will be a game changer for sure.

While I saw a prototype and there was a demo floating around, and I waited.... its not coming till next release
Suspect there may have been some safety or design issues, either that or Cab need something "new" to release for next year

Yep Pete was just the frontman, NP provided all important capital, distribution etc.
As for NP making kites is not new....I think there are some Neil Pryde Kites (CRX?, 2015/16?) and NP boards at my local shop is trying to flog them off. Needless to say not much market penetration here. NP harnesses both for kiting and windsurfing. There was a bit of a crossover going on there.
That and the Neil Pryde "Chapter 2" bikes reeks of all middle-aged crises
No wonder my kids say its an old mans sport
Now I'm off to go kiting amongst a bunch of windsurfers.

Same.
