I was down at the beach the other day there was all these nubes on C-kites who couldn't even kite, not even 5 metres and I was thinking what the hell's happening?

Before you used to have to watch out for experienced riders on C kites now its everyone on C kites.

*before 2007/8 it was everyone on C-kites, now it's 99% experienced riders, with the odd "nube"

i have seen so many people who have NO business AT ALL riding vegas's rpm's even some kooks on chaos's who couldnt even ride toeside netalone handle pass or just simply unhook. i have no idea who hell is selling these idiots these kites. ive even asked a few and they seem to think "oh yeah i got it cause it turns so fast!" what the **** **** you cant even backroll why do you even care how fast your kite is turning? get a standard freeride kite like you are supposed to for your first couple years.

worst part is its completely ruined the 2nd hand market cause i now think its like the gold lotto where 1 in 9 million c kites wont be flogged out to death with popped seams because i might get one of these retired kooks poor purchase choices. where as before i thought the 2nd hand c kite market was more like the local footy club raffle where i KNOW i have 1 in NO ****ing chance winning cause ****y****wit allready decided which one his mates mates gets the meat tray over beers last night with him.

I got a mate that brought a torch last year. He recon the shop said it was good for waves. What a joke. He rides it fine.

C kites are easy to fly, just like every other kite. My c kite even has a huge wind range. And super safe with the 5th line.

Give the kooks a brake, they don't know any better.

I'm talking about the competition bridled C kites like choas and C4 etc,

Yeah respect if you can ride a C kite and do ride them properly. But if you are a nube and should be on another kite but decided to go out on a C kite, then spent your session dropping it in front of other kiters and unable to relaunch or riding out of control. It just makes everything unpleasant for everyone especially for the nubes.

Really
Here's my first kites, wipika matrix still got a 7 11 16.5
Still take them for a run
The bars have come on hugely but the matrix still goes great in correct wind
The Wipika Indy I had was a cracker of a kite also
5 knot setting I added on the fith line gave it a good range

11 years apart in design, not that different

I ride c4's but I can barely unhook, my kite is high during my raileys and I've barely made a handle pass in my life

I should probably sell up and give up just to make sure nobody has to witness the embarrassment that is me using gear that I like and enjoying myself

Haha, ok that makes it clear. Nube!

In all seriousness, who cares.

70% of the boots riders out there do not throw wakestyle tricks. So what!

80% of the strapless surfboard riders SUCK at riding strapless. So what!

Get a life dude. Try to be a bit less judgemental, hope you get a bit more self confidence in life at one stage.

I can, its because we are old and are use to having the best of everything with money being no object. but we are to stupid to realise riding what the world champions ride is not what we should be riding.

Someone needs to show all us rich old farts the price tag on the flysurfers. Our skill level is much more suited to them and no need for our electric pumps!

Just because most top riders ride C kites does not mean that they are harder to ride these days. Back in the days yes, they had a crappy wind range, you could only depower by edging hard and letting the beast fly forward to the edge of the wind window, you needed to quickly swim towards the kite to flip it over and then sideways if you wanted to stand a change relaunching, the list goes on.

Nowadays everyone can ride a C kite. Whether or not it suits their style or they just want to be rad, or whether a shop sold them crap, is a different story.

Try to look at it this way. If noobs really struggle with C kites, this is a good thing as they will swim around downwind and not be in your way while on a Rebel etc they will persistently mow the lawn annoying you even more. If they were hard to ride it would also put some noobs off and you'd see less people kiting which will be a bless.

Kiting turned into a bit of a show off sports unfortunately while it should just be fun. Who cares what others ride or do. There are other sports if you want to show off your skills and get a self confidence boost, pick up chicks etc. You'd go for some sport which actually has an audience. Nobody wants to be at the beach in 20+ knots and watch someone kiting, usually.

That's not the point, BUDDY. The point is that he has no right telling people what they can fly. If his knowledge is so great shouldn't he share it and help the ill informed.

of course he has the right! we are all in this together and if someone came upto me 10 years ago and said hay.... i dont think you should be buying a wakeboard 133 as your first board. maybe get a freeride board thats much larger and suitable to your size then i would not have done it. instead i flapped around with a 133 wake board struggleing with riding upwind. ....wait we are kind of in the grey agreeing area BUDDYS 4 LYFE
